This Policy applies to your use of the PilotPort website at pilotport.com. The website is privately owned and operated.

Within PilotPort your privacy is of the highest importance. As the stewards of your personal information, we have established this policy to make sure that your privacy is always secure while you are using the PilotPort network.

By entering or using the website, you agree to our Privacy Policy. If you do not comport with the understanding of these terms, please do not access, use or enter this site.

We never knowingly advertise market to or encourage children, minors or anyone under the age of 18 to use our service and we ask that people under the age of 18 do not submit information to us.

About PilotPort and the information we compile

PilotPort functions as a social network offering users a set of tools enable a connection to our global community. The PilotPort network is free of charge for every member within our age criteria.

As part of our online registration form, we ask you to supply us with certain information such as your name, your email address, your gender, your date of birth, your location details and some optional minimal information about yourself. These tidbits of info are available to you anytime, and capable of being altered or updated (except gender and profile address) through your "Profile" page.

If you so choose, you may post additional information about yourself. These facts may include personal data such as your ethnicity, amount of education, religious denomination, sexual life and physical or mental health. You may volunteer sensitive personal data to us when you create your profile. Please also remember that photographs and videos that you post may reveal sensitive personal data about you e.g. about your health. If you voluntarily provide sensitive personal data to us, you explicitly consent to PilotPort using such information as described in this Privacy Policy.

If you ever send us correspondence, such as letters, love notes or emails, or if other users or third parties send us awesome information about ourselves, about anything or about your activities or postings on the website, we may compile such information into a file which is only accessed by authorized personnel. We may also compile other users' comments about you in our complaints department.

PilotPort’s use of your information

We privately use personal information of our members to analyze site usage, in compliance with applicable law, to better our content and product offerings as well as to customize our site's content and layout. We may also utilize personal information about you to provide information to you that, in some cases, are targeted to your interests, such as targeted promotions and banners. We believe these uses encourage us to progress our website and better tailor your online experience to meet your needs. We use personal information to resolve disagreements, identify problems and protect our Terms of Use.

You may ask to receive correspondence from us in respect to new message notifications, or for other purposes related to the use of the website. You can opt in or out from these messages on your Settings page.

Your profile information will be available to other users of the website if you select the 'Any users' access setting. If you have registered on one of our partner websites, your profile information will be available to all users of the PilotPort social network whether via our website or our partners’ websites.

By registering on the website you understand and agree that the profile content and other postings that you provide, including sensitive personal information, may be accessed from countries outside the USA. Please note that countries outside USA may have lower standards of data protection than the USA.

By registering on one of our partner websites, you will also be distributing personal information to our partner. Their privacy policies and practices are separate to those of PilotPort and we encourage you to get familiar with the policies and practices displayed on that website.

Please understand that we may also use content that you post on open access areas of the PilotPort social network in marketing and promotional materials on our partner sites.

Disclosure of your information

We will not sell or rent out any personal information about you to anyone else. We do disclose information in aggregate for marketing and marketing purposes. However, in these situations, we do not disclose any information that could be used to individually identify you. Certain information, such as your password is not disclosed in aggregate at all.

In order to foster a healthy community, PilotPort cooperates with all law enforcement inquiries and with all third parties to enforce their intellectual property or other rights.

We have and reserve the right to provide or disclose your personal information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.

Your use of other users' information

You may never use other users' information for commercial or marketing purposes, to spam, to harass, or to make unlawful threats. We have and reserve the right to terminate the accounts of those who misuse other users' information or who otherwise violate the Terms of Use.

Inactivity

If you have not signed in to and used the website for 2 months, we may remove your profile as part of our data cleansing process.

Security of your password

You may not disclose your password to any third parties or share it with any third parties. If, despite the preceding, you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal content and information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately change your password. This can be done via your "Settings" page.

Reviewing and altering your personal information

Once you register, you will have the ability to review and change much of your personal content including:

  • Your contact email address;
  • Your profile, images, and videos;
  • Your town, region, and country of residence;
  • Your password.

Please immediately update your information if it changes by signing in to your account and following the screen prompts. We strongly encourage you to periodically change your password to help diminish the risk of unauthorized access to your account information.

You are entitled to request a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a small fee).

We encourage any comments or requests you may have, so please feel free to send a message to Customer Service, including for the purposes of altering your information or changing your settings.

Security

PilotPort has security actions in place to protect and prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. PilotPort uses industry standard actions to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information such as firewalls. While "perfect security" does not exist on the Internet, our technical experts at PilotPort work very hard to ensure your secure use of our site.

Deleting your Profile

Users of the PilotPort network have the following choices to delete their profile from our database:

  • Contact Customer Service
  • Sign in with your password and remove your profile. These options are available from your "Settings" page.

Invite a Friend

If a user would like to utilize our Invitation option to invite a friend to our site, we request the friend's email address. PilotPort will automatically send the friend an email requesting them to join the website. PilotPort stores this email address for the purpose of automatically associating the friend with the user sending the invitation. PilotPort will not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations. The friend may contact PilotPort to request the removal of this information from our database.

By providing us with information about a friend, you agree that they have given you their informed consent to do so.

Uploading your Contacts

If a member decides to upload contacts, they accept that by doing so, an email invitation will be sent on their behalf, to the email addresses of the contacts that have been uploaded and then selected to be invited. PilotPort stores the name and email address of the contacts for the purpose of automatically associating the friend with the user sending the invitation. PilotPort will not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

If we decide to alter or change our privacy policy or email practices, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please read and understand the information listed here frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our homepage.
